Summary

Phoenix Logistics, Inc. is currently seeking applicants for Electronic Technician Maintenance III positions at Camp Dodge, IA. This position will be on the ATMP (Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations Maintenance Program) contract for the Blackhawk Aircrew Trainer (BAT).

Technical Job Functions:

  • Perform power up, orderly initialization, operation, and shutdown of the simulator.
  • Conduct pre-operational readiness checks before scheduled training periods.
  • Conduct post-operational checks at the completion of the training day.
  • Complete both preventive and corrective maintenance on all training device systems and subsystems.
  • Complete approved device and system engineering upgrades in accordance with provided technical documentation and procedures.
  • Maintain, repair, adjust, align and/or install various types of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and related devices such as: electronic transmitting and receiving devices, micro-, mini-, and mainframe computers, terminals and peripheral equipment, industrial, measuring, and controlling equipment, video and optical equipment, industrial robotic devices, projection visual / image generation systems.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment operations through performance of organizational, intermediate, and preventive maintenance actions.
  • Apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting original equipment manufacturer manuals or other delivered training device system engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the inter-relationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting the necessary tools and test equipment.
  • Use various test equipment such as: digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, logic analyzers, sine wave generators, fiber optic test equipment and additional special test equipment.
  • Comply with instructions and processes identified in the program Maintenance, Quality Control, and Safety Plans.
  • Accurately maintain component and parts levels in storeroom and associated database.
  • Keep training area clean and free of clutter.
  • Perform related collateral duties as required.
  • Receive technical guidance as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians. 

   Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and three years minimum work experience in a related discipline or three years related military training or a combination of education and experience.
  • Have system level maintenance experience demonstrating a general knowledge in visual, computer, display, and/or hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency with troubleshooting equipment such as multi-meter or voltage detector.
  • Three years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / network or training device maintenance.
  • Two years' experience with Microsoft office software operation and use.
  • Computer Networking experience
  • Knowledge of Aviation Simulation Devices, prior Helicopter Avionics / Instruments / Flight experience a plus, especially on UH60L/M model.
  • A thorough understanding of U.S. Army standards and specifications (DA PAM 738-751) as they apply to Flight Simulators.
  • Experience maintaining full motion hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems
  • Must possess good written composition and verbal communication skills, ability to express facts and rationale.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts and alternate work weeks if required to support customer training requirements.
  • Occasional air travel or travel by automobile may be required (not expected to exceed 25%).
  • Must be able to travel to various locations.

This position is performed in a computer simulation type setting. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be able to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
